Safety, Security, Patrol

Our Association has always considered Safety and Security of the community as its most important mission, and we devote much of our efforts, time and resources to this important aspect of our lives here.

Our security initiatives include: Invite speakers and safety officers to our meetings. maintain frequent contact with City agencies such as the CD 4 Council office, LA Fire and Police Departments, Senior Lead officer, LAPD West Traffic Division, LA Departments of Street Services, Engineering, and Building and Safety. We stay in close contact with adjacent community associations and their leaders, and share common safety alerts.

At our most recent annual meeting, LAPD shared with us the challenges they are facing, including increasing response times due to limited resources. While the Hollywood Division prioritizes severe crimes in high-activity areas like Hollywood Blvd, these demands, unfortunately, cause delays in reaching our neighborhood, where brazen burglaries are now noticeably increasing.

To ensure the safety and security of our neighborhood, all homeowners must comply with the Community Patrol service requirements outlined in our CC&R’s Section 10.01 (b) “…provide community patrolling service…”. This service is critical to maintaining a secure environment for all residents, and MOPOA, as Declarant, is committed to enforcing this requirement.

We kindly ask that every homeowner and residents maintain mandatory Patrol service (separate from alarm monitoring)

MOPOA highly values voluntary cooperation and is available to assist you in meeting this requirement if needed, please call 213-486-4555.

However, if compliance is not achieved, MOPOA may be required to take further action as permitted under our governing documents. This could include referral to an attorney or other legal steps to ensure adherence to the CC&Rs.
